Homemade Pasta Sauce
The sauce had a good flavor and had a nice taste with spices. It tastes even more amazing when topped on pasta. It will add some pizazz to any pasta dish you make. Also when you make this sauce, you feel the satisfaction of making homemade sauce instead of using sauce from a jar. This sauce pairs well with the Herby Turkey Meatballs.
Homemade Pasta Sauce
1 large onion, chopped fine
2 cloves of garlic chopped fine
1 yellow pepper
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
2 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes (our cans were pre-pureed)
1/2 teaspoon of dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Instructions
Heat up a large pot on medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and yellow pepper to sautee. Once sauteed, add the dried spices and let them cook for a minute to bring out the flavor. Then, add the tomatoes and let them simmer for 20-30 minutes with the lid on.
